Yazd Steel:
Ancient Power, Modern Innovation
The Yazd Steel project was the rebranding and industrial logo design of Yazd Steel, a leading producer of steel and rail in Iran. They wanted a modern redesign that reflected their heritage and origin from the ancient city of Yazd, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
We created a brand strategy based on the ancient pattern of authority to make Yazd Steel’s dominance, superiority and influence to stand out in the market with a logo design that was inspired by the lion’s head and the rail section and represented courage and innovation. The use of orange-yellow, sapphire blue and metallic silver as the main brand colors indicated energy, trust and quality. The result was a brand identity that expressed the vision, values and legacy of Yazd Steel.
Concept Behind The Industrial Logo Design
The typography of Yazd Steel is also based on the cultural and historical elements of the city of Yazd. The letters A and D are stylized to resemble the domes of the mosques that are prominent in the cityscape. The dome symbolizes a safe and strong place, as well as an advanced design and engineering feat. The typography complements the logo design, which draws from the shape of a rail section and a lion’s snout, to create a unique and memorable brand identity
How We Designed Brand Book for Yazd Steel
Yazd Steel is a company that produces rail steel. They needed a brand book that would highlight their expertise, quality, and innovation. They also needed to convey their brand consistently and effectively to their customers, partners, and employees.
in the process of industrial brand design we collaborated with Yazd Steel to learn about their vision, mission, and values. We also studied their industry, competitors, and target market. We devised a brand strategy based on our findings that established their positioning, differentiation, and personality.
We then transformed the brand strategy into a visual identity that expressed Yazd Steel’s core and features. We designed a logo, a color scheme, a typography system, and an imagery style that was industrial and modern. We also crafted a voice and tone that were clear and confident.
We gathered all the components of the visual identity and the voice and tone into a brand book that acted as a manual for Yazd Steel’s branding and marketing. The brand book clarified the meaning and intention of each component and the guidelines and best practices for using them. The brand book also featured examples and templates to show how the components could be used in different contexts and situations.
The brand book enabled Yazd Steel to have a strong and consistent brand image that demonstrated its expertise, quality, and innovation. It also helped them to boost their brand credibility, trust, and loyalty.
